Lee
Lee Roy Selmon's life story blends the virtues of family football academic scholarship with social service. First family he is the youngest of nine children born to Lucious and Jessie Semon who grew up on a farm in Eufala, Oklahoma. In football, he was with three of his siblings for Oklahoma. Three brothers all made All-American teams. One year 1973 Lucious Jr. Dewey and Lee Roy were starters. Lee Roy was named the best offensive lineman in the country by Outland, Lombardi and the Outland Awards. Oklahoma has won two National Championships during the span of three seasons as the starter. On his third scholarship, he was named an National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete in 1975. Selmon was awarded a degree from education. Lee Roy dedicated ten volunteer every week while in his time in college. After college he settled in Tampa played nine years with the Buccaneers played all-pro three times, and began a business career. The year 1988 was the first time he began working as an Account Relations Officer for First Florida Bank in Tampa. The bank was also a partner of the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute as well as the Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. In 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce recognized Lee Roy as being among 10 of America's most outstanding young men. When he was a student Lee Roy was 6-2 and weighs 256 pounds. He captained his college team in the year 1975. In 1993 he joined as a director at University of South Florida as the associate director of athletics. In 1993, the College Football Hall of Fame named him in the year 1988. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame In 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation awarded its Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Jr. Henry Bellmon, the governor of Oklahoma presented the award.
